Together We Weave!

 

Our project involved a series of workshops with artist Lindsay McConnell.  We engaged with the traditional art of weaving. We learned to weave using paper, string and found materials. Our senior pupils worked to create two fantastic willow deer (a fawn and a stag) for our junior campus. These deer have been placed close to our new sensory garden (currently under development).

We hope you enjoy the videos which show the work involved in each of our weaving projects. Lindsay created a loom which children from the junior campus have filled up with found materials.  Our second video shows the creation of our magnificent deer from willow growing at our junior campus to the finished product.  Lots of learning and enjoyment along the way.
